Analysis and Additional information
This doe does not have a NAMUS page nor does he have
His possession of the Italian horn is interesting. Some see the symbol as having an occult connection and consider it to be a lucky charm. It is thought to bring luck, to protect, or for any other purpose and is a violation of the First Commandment. The wearing of an Italian horn, or any other object for that matter which is perceived to have special powers, is strictly forbidden. It is particularly popular in Italy.
The doe was suggested as a possible match to missing person Johnnie Joe Herrera who went missing from Oxnard, Ventura County, California on August 27, 1971 albeit, Herrera’s date of birth is over ten years earlier than the estimated date of birth for the UID.
Possible missing people that might match this doe are not common. One match, although unlikely, is Steven Anderson who went missing from New Lisbon, New Jersey on April 7th 1975 aged 17. He is moderately mentally incapacitated and not capable of sustaining himself. His weight and height fit the demographics of the UID although his age would not line up nor would his physical features. http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/a/anderson_steven.html
Nicholas Zizzamia went missing from Cherry Hill, NJ on May 12th 1979 which is before the UID was discovered but before his estimated date of death. He is also older than the doe is suspected to be. http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/z/zizzamia_nicholas.html
Another possible match is Randall Brosius who went missing from Dauphin County Pennsylvania on January 21 1977. Brosius also had long brown hair and recorded having blue eyes. Dental and DNA are available. https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/22270/21
Anthony Ross Allen went missing in October 1978 aged 16 from Fort Smith Arkansas. He had brown hair with brown eyes but had a shoe size of 10.5 or 11. DNA is available in CODIS. He is also shorter than the UID, with a height of 6ft 1 – 6ft 2. http://doenetwork.org/cases/1197dmar.html
Dennis Nathan Mann went missing from Winona, Mississippi on January 26th 1979 aged 19 years. At 5ft 10 and 165 pounds with brown hair, he looks similar to the UID. http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/77dmms.html
Outside of the estimated date of death but still a possibility is Clay Allen Foreman missing from Lake Tapawingo, Missouri on May 28, 1979. He was 19 years old at the time with brown hair and brown eyes, 5ft 8 and 160lbs. DNA and fingerprint information are available. http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/4399dmmo.html
